Uncommon Common Sense
Why Phil Chigos is running for Town Council

Leadership that listens first
Phil didn't set out to run for Town Council, but over the past two years as he watched the Council address issues such as paid parking and the one-way conversion on San Anselmo Avenue, it became clear that the decisions made by the Council have a direct impact on the community he lives in, the businesses he works with, and the town where he is raising his children. He believes San Anselmo needs leaders who are willing to engage with those decisions thoughtfully and take responsibility for finding solutions to benefit all community members.
Phil approaches problems with fiscal discipline, curiosity, and an open mind. He doesn't assume he has all the answers. Instead, he asks questions, seeks out the facts, listens to different perspectives, and tries to understand the full picture before reaching a conclusion. Once he reaches a decision, he's always willing to change his mind when more information is presented, or when a change in circumstance warrants a new perspective.
Phil is running for San Anselmo Town Council because he believes the town deserves leadership that listens first, thinks pragmatically, spends responsibly, and puts the long-term interests of the community ahead of political strategy. Most of all, he wants to bring a practical, thoughtful approach to the decisions that will shape San Anselmo for years to come.
